National Housing Platform

Privacy Policy

Last updated 14 October 2026

Who we are

This website is operated for the National Housing Platform, an initiative of Building 4.0 CRC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect personal information only when you give it to us or when you use the site:

  • Industry registration. The “Register interest” link in the “Get involved” section opens our registration form, which is hosted on Microsoft Forms rather than on this website. It asks for your contact details (such as your name, position, email address and phone number) and information about your organisation and what it does.
  • Emails you send us. If you contact us at info@building40.org, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
  • Usage information. We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised information about how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to do this.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and understand capability across the Australian housing and manufacturing ecosystem;
  • assess and follow up your registration, including opportunities to join the System 600 ecosystem, contribute to its design, provide input into the research and development of System 600 components, or add products to the System 600 component library;
  • contact you about the National Housing Platform and opportunities to get involved;
  • understand how the website is used so we can improve it; and
  • meet our legal obligations.

Registering your interest does not constitute a procurement process or guarantee future work.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with service providers who help us run the website and manage enquiries (for example, hosting, email, form and analytics providers, including Microsoft and Google), and with government or partner organisations involved in delivering the National Housing Platform where relevant to your enquiry or registration. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States.

Our registration form

Microsoft Forms collects your registration on our behalf, and the responses are sent to us. Microsoft’s own privacy statement covers how Microsoft operates the service; this policy covers how we use the information you submit. When you follow the link you leave this website, and our analytics do not track your activity on the form.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site will still work without them.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or de-identify it.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at info@building40.org. If you have a complaint about how we have handled your information, contact us first; if you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
